Before switching to opera, the Spanish soprano Rocio Perez was trained in clarinet and drama in Madrid. In 2014 she entered  the opera studio in Strasbourg/Colmar and was subsequently admitted in the young singers program of the opera house of Lyon.

Her career takes off after gaining lavish praise for her participation at La Fenice in L'occasione fa il ladro (Berenice) by Rossini, at Deutsche Oper Berlin as Queen of the Night and her debut as Lucia di Lammermoor (title-role) and in Helsinki as Olympia (Contes d’Hoffmann).

Meanwhile she performed Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at A Coruña, Paula (Los tres sombreros de copa) at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Dinorah (Le Pardon de Ploërmel) at deutsche Oper Berlin under Enrique Mazzola, Tonina (Prima la Musica poi le parole) and Frau Herz (Der Schauspieldirektor), again upon invitation of La Fenice.

At home in Madrid, the Teatro Real invites her to sing The Queen of the Night,followed by Nannetta (Falstaff), First Niece (Peter Grimes) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola). Eventually, her very first Gilda (Rigoletto) at the Opera house of Nancy (2021) was received with lavish praise.

Also noteworthy are her upcoming debut at the Opera house of Nice Côte d’Azur where she will appear in the New-Years Concert 2022/23 and sing further on this season Nannetta in a new production of Falstaff ; Blonde (her debut in the role) in Mozart’s Abduction from the seraglio (semi-staged version produced by the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada) and her house debut at the Ópera nacional de Chile as Gilda.

Lately the artist returned at the Semperoper Dresden for several performances of The Magic Flute as Queen of the Night a role she also sang upon invitation of Les Talens lyriques and conductor Christophe Rousset at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad and at the Berlioz Festival in Côte Saint-André (FR). In concert she appeared in a Zarzuela program at Filharmonia Krakov and sang the solo soprano part in Fauré’s requiem alongside the Basque national Orchestra Euskadiko. She also participated in the Opera Gala 2022 of the German Aids Foundation in Bonn.

AWARDS

2018 : 4th Grand Prize at the famous International Queen Elisabeth Voice Competition (Belgium) and called Laureate of this legendary Competition.

2016 : 3rd Prize and Young Artist Prize at the very first edition of the International Singing Competition "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg".

2015 : several Prizes at the XXVII “Concours de chant Lyrique de Marmande”.

Other awards include the 1st Prize and Most promising young singer Prize at the XII edition of the international competition “Luis Mariano”, the 2nd Prize and Most promising young singer Prize in the IX International competition of singers “Villa de Colmenar Viejo” and the 2nd Prize at the Young Musicians competition in Spain. The more she received a scholarship from the “Asociacion amigos de la opera” and “Juventudes Musicales” of Madrid.
