Of French origin, Marie-Juliette Ghazarian first studies harpsichord. Fascinated by lyrical singing since she was little, she starts to train her voice and decide to leave Paris to deepen her learning at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, with baritone Marcel Vanaud.
In 2018 the artist joined the MM-Academy of the Monnaie Theatre, allowing her to participate in various productions under the baton of Evelino Pidò, Kazushi Ōno, Alain Altinoglu and directors such as Romeo Castellucci, Krzysztof Warlikowski, to name just a few. Meanwhile she has broke out onto the rank of MM-Academy-Laureate.
Parallel to it, she joined the lyrical studio at the Center of Fine Arts of Charleroi where she studied the roles of Carmen, Dorabella (Così fan tutte) and the 2nd Lady (The magic Flute).
Called “Artist in Residence” at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Marie-Juliette enters a new phase in her training. Under the watchful eye of Stéphane Degout, Sophie Koch and José van Dam she improves even more her vocal skills and deepens the repertoire. The latter as well, being cast in the numerous projects and concerts – at the Chapel – next to Flagey and other venues.
Marie-Juliette made her professional stage debut as Rick (Was Looking at the Ceiling and then I saw the Sky) by John Adams at the National theatre of Brussels, followed by the Royal Opera house of Liège and the Athénée Theatre in Paris. Last season she interpreted the 3rd Lady (The magic Flute) also at ROH Liège, next to the Abuela in the world premiere of Cambio madre por moto by Frank Nuyts, the Page of Herodias (Salome) and Suzuki (Madama Butterfly). Recently the artist was all alone by herself on stage, in the contemporary opera by Leonard Evers “Goud !” (Gold) at the Monnaie Theatre (October 2024). Enventually she made her debut at the Flanders Opera in Ravel's The Child and the Spells in (L'Enfant et les sortilèges) as La Chatte, L'écureuil and Le Pâtre.

D’origine française Marie-Juliette Ghazarian s’oriente d’abord vers l’étude du clavecin. Mais fascinée par le chant lyrique depuis toute petite, elle commence à travailler sa voix et quitte Paris pour approfondir son apprentissage au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles auprès de Marcel Vanaud.

Au titre d’Artiste en résidence à La Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, Marie-Juliette entame en 2022 une nouvelle phase dans sa formation. Elle y est attentivement suivie par Stéphane Degout, Sophie Koch et José van Dam et y est associée à de nombreux projets et concerts - in situ – ainsi qu’à Flagey et autres lieux.
L’artiste fait ses débuts sur scène dans le rôle de Rick (Was Looking at the Ceiling and then I saw the Sky) de John Adams au Théâtre National de Bruxelles puis sur la scène de l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie et enfin à Paris au Théâtre de l’Athénée. La saison passée elle aborda la 3ème Dame (Flûte enchantée) à l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie, l’Abuela dans la création mondiale de Cambio madre por moto de Frank Nuyts, le Page d’Hérodias (Salomé) ainsi que Suzuki (Madama Butterfly). En octobre 2024, elle fut seule sur scène pour l’opéra contemporain de Leonard Evers “Goud !” (Or !) à la Monnaie. Tout récemment l'artistes se produisit dans L'Enfant et les sortilèges de Ravel (rôles de La Chatte, L'Ecureuil et le Pâtre) à l'Opéra de Flandre (février 2025).

Geboren en getogen in Parijs studeert Marie-Juliette Ghazarian er aanvankelijk clavecimbel tot haar passie voor het lyrische repertoire stilaan de overhand neemt. In die mate, dat ze na een korte zang opleiding, beslist Parijs te verlaten om aan het Koninklijk Muziek Conservatorium te Brussel in de klas van bariton Marcel Vanaud haar zangstudies verder te zetten.
In 2018 wordt Marie-Juiette toegelaten aan de MM-Academy van de Muntschouwburg. Het liet haar toe aan diverse producties, veelal onder gerenommeerde dirigenten als Evelino Pidò, Kazushi Ono, Alain Altinoglu en spraakmakende regisseurs als Romeo Castellucci, of nog Krzysztof Warlikowski. Ondertussen mag de jonge zangeres zich MM-Academy-Laureate noemen.
Parallel aan de MM-Academy, bekwaamt ze zich verder aan de - met het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten te Charleroi verbonden – operastudio. Ze wordt er klaargestoomd voor de titelpartij van Carmen, Dorabella (Così fan tutte) en de 2de Dame (De Toverfluit).
Haar benoeming als “Artist in Residence” bij de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth, geeft een nieuwe wending aan haar opleiding. Onder het toeziend oog van Stéphane Degout, Sophie Koch en José van Dam bekwaamt Marie-Juliette er zich verder en werkt ze aan de uitbouw van haar repertoire. Onder meer, door haar deelname aan de vele door de Muziekkapel opgezette projecten en concerten, in situ, maar evengoed in Flagey en andere zalen.

Vorig seizoen vertolkte ze de 3de Dame (De Toverfluit) bij ORW Luik, de Abuela in de wereldcreatie “Cambio madre por moto” van Frank Nuyts’ (Festival van Vlaanderen & deBijloke), de Page van Herodias (Salome) en Suzuki (Madama Butterfly). Recent stond Marie-Juliette Ghazarian als enige vertolker op het toneel, in de hedendaagse opera van Leonard Evers “Goud !” (De Munt, Oktober 2024). Ze maakte eveneens haar huisdebuut bij Opéra Balles Vlaanderen in de rollen van La Chatte, L'Ecureuil en Le Pâtre in Ravels L'enfant et les sortilèges (februari 2025).
