Blessed with a rich, graceful voice and a truly dramatic temperament, this French soprano commands attention with a stage presence as intense in recital as it is on the grand stage. Trained at the Paris Conservatory, she has made eclecticism her signature—a repertoire that seamlessly spans Baroque, Classical, and contemporary works, encompassing opera, recital, and chamber music.
A multifaceted schedule
Recently, she sang the First Lady in The Magic Flute, directed by Cédric Klapisch at the Opéra de Saint-Étienne, and lent her voice to Marko Nikodijevic's new work, "I Didn't Know Where to Put All My Tears," with Ensemble Le Balcon, directed by Silvia Costa (Opera houses of Nancy and Rennes). She also returned to performing for young audiences in La Courte Paille at the Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand.
In concert, she performed at the Beaune Festival in Dardanus (Iphise), at La Folle Journée in Nantes alongside Jean-Paul Pruna, and then at the Ambronay and Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache festivals with L’Assemblée, conducted by Marie Van Rhijn. An extensive repertoire born from the artist's explorations
In addition to the aforementioned roles, Camille Poul moves with fluidity from the heroic fervor of Armida (Rinaldo) to the finesse of Susanna (Nozze di Figaro) Pamina (Magic flute) and the raw modernity of Poulenc's La Voix Humaine. The artist has built a gallery of roles that testifies to her rare versatility: Zerlina (The magic flute), Drusilla, Amore and Valetto (L'Incoronation of Poppea), Alphise (Les Boréades), Adelanta (Serse), Maddalena (La Resurrezione), the title-role of Ravel's L'Enfant et les Sortilèges, Carolina (Il matrimonio segreto), Amour (Orphée et Eurydice), and Yniold (Pelléas and Mélisande).
Her talent for contemporary music was revealed at the Paris Opera during the world premiere of Marc-André Dalbavie's "Le Soulier de Satin"(as Doña Sept-Épées). Since then, she has sung in Thierry Escaich's "Point d'Orgue" (as Shirine) and Alexandre Desplat's "En Silence" (as Tomiko).
