Since her debut at Flanders Opera as Kate Pinkerton (Butterfly), she returned as Konstanze in "Is it Love", after Mozart’s Entführung, Micaela (Carmen), 1. Dame (Zauberflöte), Jungfer Marianne (Rosenkavalier) in the largely praised production directed by Oscar Prize Winner Christoph Waltz, 1st Daughter in Philip Glass' opera Akhnaten (2015), Musetta (La Bohème) and recently as 1st Blumenmädchen in Parsifal.Recent highlightsThe eventful and highly praised world premiere at the legendary Flagey Hall with Brussels Philharmonic under Jun Märkl of "Songs for the crossing" for soprano and choir by the Belgian composer and pianist Jeroen D'hoe. A song cycle, inspired by the awarded novel "War and turpentine" by the Belgian author Stefan Hertmans. Next to a semi-staged recital project (made possible by 30CC Leuven) named "Broadway meets Bernstein", accompanied by Jeroen D'hoe, who's considered a great connoisseur of this repertoire. On the opera stage the artists appeared as Norina in Don Pasquale at the Summer Operafestival Alden-Biesen and Dorella (Das Liebesverbot, Wagner) ; Giannetta (L'Elisir d'Amore) in new productions at Opéra national du Rhin Strasbourg ; the soprano solo in the soloist quartet in the world premiere of Les bienveillantes by Hèctor Parra at Flanders Opera (April 2019) and Elvira in L'Italiana in Algeri by Gioachino Rossini at Zomeropera Alden-Biesen, 2019, new production.NewsAfter her outstanding performance as Fennimore (role debut) in Kurt Weill's Der Silbersee in a new production at Flanders Opera (Automne 2021), Hanne Roos returns to the house as Despina (another role debut) in the famous Paris production of Mozart's Così fan tutte stage directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. Here conducted by Maestro Trevor Pinnock. Further this season, the artists will appear as Esmeralda in a new Dutch version of Smetana's "Bartered bride" ( Spring 2022).An allround voiceHanne Roos has distinguished herself in a wide and diversified repertoire. She toured with Brussels Philharmonic to Strasbourg (Festival Musica) and to Venice at the Contemporary Music Biennale with "Le Cri de Mohim" a work composed and conducted by Michel Tabachnik. She premiered both the piano and orchestral version of the Haiku songs by composer Dirk Brossé. The latter also invited her to interpret his work Distortion, performed in several venues in Belgium, the US, New-York and the UK at St. Paul's Cathedrale, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1.Meanwhile Hanne Roos has repeatedly performed under renowned conductors such as : Constantin Trinks, Daniele Callegari, Dmitri Jurowski, Titus Engel, Tomas Netopil, Yannis Pouspourikas, Vincent Monteil, Jan Willem de Vriend, Antonino Fogliano, Cornelius Meister, and Karel Deseure.Vocal educationThe Belgian soprano Hanne ROOS, started her vocal education at the Music Academy of her hometown Ronse with Pascal Devreese. In 2004 she joined the vocal department of the Royal Music Conservatoire of Gent (Belgium), where she was subsequently coached by Erika Pauwels, Gidon Saks, Evelyn Bohen and Mireille Capelle and graduated of a Master’s degree "cum laude". Being still a student she sang Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), The Governess (Turn of the Screw/Britten) directed by Gidon Saks and Alcina (titel role). First professional engagements included amongst others Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at Summer-Opera-Festival Alden Biesen.Season 2009/2010 saw her as a member of the Flanders Opera Studio (managed by stage director Ronny Lauwers). Eventually she joined for another two seasons the internationally renowned Opera Studio of Strasbourg and Colmar. Having a direct link with the Opéra national du Rhin Strasbourg, it allowed her to take part in several of its major productions.Discography
