Enrico CASARI, Tenor

Sokolinska Noto. Later on he continued his studies with Augusto Vicentini, Ivo Vinco and Sherman Lowe. Eventually  he was trained at Flanders Opera Studio in Gent and at the Opera Studio of Opéra National du Rhin, Strasbourg. He also won first prize at the "International Singing Competition Rinaldo Pelizzoni " in Parma. In no time he made himself a name and was chosen to record the role of Barone Rouvel in Giordano’s Fedora for Deutsche Grammophon, next to Angela Gheorghiu and Placido Domingo (conductor Alberto started at the Conservatory of Verona, his home town, where he studied singing with Maria Veronesi).

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
His debut as Narraboth in Salome (R. Strauss), directed by Robert Carsen and under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda both at Teatro Regio di Torino as at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona ; Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Royal Opera house of Liège and Remendado in Carmen at the Arena di Verona.

This season Enrico Casari will amongst others participate in A quiet place by Leonard Bernstein at Operazuid Maaastricht and tour all around the Netherlands and to Luxembourg with this unique production. In concert he will appear with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto in Otto Romanze (Verdi/Berio).

CURRICULUM
As a member of the Opera Studio in Strasbourg Enrico Casari participated as Noctambule / Pape des fous in Louise (G. Charpentier), the title role in Aladino e la Lampada Magica (Nino Rota), Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos and as Malcolm in Macbeth (Verdi). The house reinvited him meanwhile to sing Valzacchi in Der Rosenkavalier (R. Strauss), Beppe in I Pagliacci (Leoncavallo) and to participate in two operas by Leos Janacek both stage directed by Robert Carsen : as Janek in The Makropulos Affair and Kudrjas in Kat’a Kabanova.

He made his debut as Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro at La Monnaie, and as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and as Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss) at Opéra Royal de Wallonie Liège. Since 2010 Enrico has appeared as Janek at La Fenice in Venice ; as Tamino at Opéra de Rouen, Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels and at Teatro Comunale in Bolzano; Kudrjas at Teatro Regio di Torino ; again as Beppe at Opéra Royal de Wallonie (next to José Cura) and the Opera house of Montecarlo (next to Leo Nucci and Marcelo Alvarez) and at the Opera house of Metz ; as Malcolm at Opéra de Monte-Carlo : Normanno in Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti) in several French opera houses including Lille, Limoges, Rouen and Reims   ...Furthermore he made his debut at Théâtre des Champs Elysées as Dormont in La Scala di Seta (Rossini) and as Alberto in La Gazzetta (Rossini) at St. Moritz Opera Festival, Opera Basel and the Israeli Opera of Tel-Aviv. Noteworthy was his debut as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut (by D. Auber) next to Sumi Jo and his participation in Adriana Lecouvreur (Cilea) next to Roberto Alagna and as Sir Bruno Robertson in I Puritani (Bellini) at the Opera house of Monte-Carlo.

Meanwhile Enrico Casari has sung under theh baton of renowned conductors such as : Paolo Arrivabeni, Gianandrea Noseda, Friedemann Layer, Daniele Callegari, Marko Letonja, Patrick Fournillier, Jérémie Rhorer, Enrique Mazzola, Pinchas Steinberg, Patrick Davin, Christophe Rousset, Francesco Ivan Ciampa …

Concerts have included opera galas in Penang and Kuala Lumpur, and several concert tours with various repertoire as the solo tenor parts in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Haydn’s Creation for the 1000th Anniversary of the Cathedral of Liège, Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle and Stabat Mater and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria ...
