Enrico CASARI, Tenor

The Italian tenor Enrico Casari’s early musical education took place at the Conservatorio di Verona. He studied singing with the tenor Augusto Vicentini and with the bass Ivo Vinco, and graduated from the Faculty of Music at the University of Pavia. The same year, he won first prize at the Concorso internazionale di canto Rinaldo Pelizzoni in Parma, and in 2007 was a finalist in the Concorso internazionale di canto Città di Bologna, taking part in masterclasses with Paolo Coni.

Subsequently Enrico Casari was trained at the Flanders Opera Studio in Ghent and eventually admitted at the Opera Studio of Opéra National du Rhin, Strasbourg where he participated as Noctambule and Pape des fous in Louise (Charpentier), Aladdin (title-role) in Nino Rota's successful opera) and as Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos). Meanwhile Enrico Casari has appeared in a large number of opera houses. La Monnaie, Brussels engaged him as Don Curzio in Nozze di Figaro ; the ROH of Wallonie/Liège forTamino (in a shortened version for children of Zauberflöte), Brighella (Ariadne auf Naxos), Beppe (I Pagliacci) and for Desgrieux in the rather unknown Manon by the French composer Daniel F.E. Auber. In Rouen he sang Tamino ; in Monte-Carlo (Malcolm, Macbeth) and Beppe ; in Lille Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor), in Metz again Beppe and in Bolzano Tamino, there in the complete version of Zauberflöte.

He strengthened ties with Strasbourg Opera House as Malcolm (Macbeth), Valzacchi (Rosenkavalier), Koudriach (Kat'a Kabanova) and Janek (The Macropoulos Affair) directed by Robert Carsen (a production which allowed him to make his debut at La Fenice) and recently as Beppe in the new production of Kristian Frédric. In between Enrico Casari appeared in two Rossini roles : Dormont in "La scala di seta" at the Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées under the baton of Enrique Mazzola and as Alberto in "La Gazzetta" at the Opera Houses of St. Moritz, Basel and Tel-Aviv, in divers productions. Furthermore he participated in a new successful production of Lucia di Lammermoor giving him the opportunity to sing Normanno at the opera houses of Reims, Limoges and Rouen.

Sir Bruno Robertson in I Puritani and Poisson de la Comédie française in Adriana Lecouvreur at the opera house of Montecarlo (Autumn, 2017), Narraboth in R. Strauss' Salome at the Teatro Regio di Torino and the Teatro Filharmonico di Verona (2018) and Don Basilio in Nozze di Figaro at the ROH of Wallonie, Liège (2018).

Meanwhile, Enrico Casari has sung under the baton of renowned conductors such as : Paolo Arrivabeni, Gianandrea Noseda, Friedemann Layer, Daniele Callegari, Marko Letonja, Patrick Fournillier, Jérémie Rhorer, Pinchas Steinberg, Patrick Davin ...amongst others.

In concert he appeared in Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Bellini’s La Sonnambula at Flanders Opera (led by Rani Calderon), Puccini's Messa di Gloria by Puccini and at several occasion he sant the solo tenor both in Mozart's and Verdi's Requiem.
